INFORMATION ABOUT INSIDE CLIMATE NEWS (10-20-25).

Dear ICN Reader,
I’m Jamie Smith Hopkins, managing editor at Inside Climate News. I’d like to tell you about how we work and why your donation is so crucial to help us keep going.
While visiting our website or opening our newsletter, you may have noticed something that sets us apart from many other news outlets: our news is free to read. That’s because Inside Climate News is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We do not charge a subscription fee, lock our news behind a paywall, or clutter our website with ads.
Instead, we give our news freely to you, to your fellow subscribers, and to anyone who wants to learn about what’s happening to our planet.

INSIDE CLIMATE NEWS WEEKLY (10-18-25)

. . . The desert landscape that stretches across southern California, New Mexico, Texas, Arizona and northern Mexico is home to an array of pollinators including moths, flies, bats, hummingbirds and terrestrial seed dispersers like desert tortoises.    Among the challenges for native pollinators: habitat destruction and the walls themselves, which sometimes prevent flying insects from crossing.    Plans by the Trump administration for miles of new barriers—and most notably miles of harsh stadium lighting that would confuse all sorts of wildlife—could worsen the situation, environmentalists warn.
More of our coverage of the biggest story on the planet. . . .

tHE nATION IntroducES “A People’s Climate” PODCAST.

The climate crisis is here—and the solutions being pushed? They’re failing. Tech gimmicks, shallow policy fixes, and corporate greenwashing won’t save us. What will? People power.   Join veteran climate activist and organizer Shilpi Chhotray as she takes listeners on an audio tour centering the frontline voices most impacted by climate change. A People’s Climate is our new limited series podcast grounded in the idea that mainstream climate dialogue erases the people most impacted, reducing their lived realities to side notes—if they appear at all. This isn’t climate talk as usual. This is environmental justice. . . .tune in and subscribe to A People’s Climate wherever you get your podcasts.
