TRUMP DENIAL, CENSORSHIP
Mitch w/ Tipping Point   10-2-25

Tell Trump: Censoring Words Won’t Fix the Climate Emergency.”

Dick,  The Trump Administration just added “climate” and “emissions” to a list of banned words at the Department of Energy. These words join “green” and “decarbonization” to Trump’s growing “list of words to avoid” at the agency, which is charged with leading our country’s energy policy. This is a blatant act of censorship designed to silence science and shield polluters from accountability. But no matter how hard Donald Trump and his cronies try to erase reality, they cannot erase the floods, fires, and deadly heat that Americans are already facing.
Please add your name now to stand up to Trump’s censorship, defend science, and demand real climate action. They may try to ban the words, but they cannot ban the truth.

Greenhouse Emissions: Nation and Class

“Notes from the Editors.”  Monthly Review (October 2025, Volume 77, Number 4).    https://doi.org/10.14452/MR-077-05-2025-09_0    Keywords:   Climate Change, Capitalism, Marxist Ecology, Ecology, Political Economy.  Abstract
In this month's "Note from the Editors," MR editors detail importance of understanding the world's grossly unequal carbon emissions output in terms of class while also recognizing the role of imperialism at the center of the crisis. "The rapidly worsening climate conditions threatening the world population," they write, "can thus be seen as a product of the ongoing class war perpetuated by the 'billionaire class' against working people everywhere."
A key passage (--D): “The total carbon emissions of the wealthy 1 percent globally now exceed the emissions of the bottom half of the world population, some four billion people, by 5 percentage points.  Billions of people around the world are being endangered by the greenhouse gas emissions of a very few” (p. 64).

From the “Ecosocialist BookShelf”

Genevieve Guenther.   THE LANGUAGE OF CLIMATE POLITICS:  Fossil Fuel Propaganda and How to Fight It.   Oxford UP.   Yet another in the large genre of books that claim we can win the climate fight by changing the way we talk about it. This one is better than most at exposing our opponents’ propaganda tools.

Simon Hannah.   RECLAIMING THE FUTURE:   A Beginner’s Guide to Planning the Economy.  Pluto Press.   Economic planning is out of favor with mainstream economists, but in this time of devastating environmental crises, it might be the only thing that can save us. In this myth-busting and accessible guide, UK-based ecosocialist Simon Hannah makes the case for ending a system based on plunder and exploitation, and proposes steps towards aligning our economy with human needs and environmental limits
