Remember the Invasion of Iraq, Illegal War of Aggression: Protest

End the Wars, Free Bradley Manning - Join us in Washington, DC March 18 to 20
action@votersforpeace.org

Join us in Washington, DC March 18 to 20 for a series of events focused on ending the wars and freeing alleged WikiLeaks whistle blower, Bradley Manning.

Dear Dick,
March 19 is the anniversary of the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq. Since then the war has expanded to Afghanistan and under President Obama, Afghanistan has escalated. Now the CIA is leading a ‘secret’ war in Pakistan and causing a major diplomatic crisis with a Blackwater agent who worked for the CIA imprisoned after allegedly killing two Pakistanis. And, the war in Iraq continues with tens of thousands of troops, and tens of thousands of mercenaries still fighting in Iraq as protests against the Iraqi government increase.

The wars will only end by a consistent anti-war campaign that includes constant acts of civil resistance. This March 19th Voters for Peace is endorsing a protest led by four veterans groups, Veterans for Peace, Iraq Vets Against the War, March Forward! And Vietnam Veterans Against War, that will include mass civil resistance at the White House. Join us and participate. We are seeking to have more than the 131 vets and their allies who were arrested in December building the resistance needed to end the wars risk arrest. I will be one of them, join me.

For more on this event visit Stop These Wars.
On March 20th, there will be a march and protest in Quantico, Virginia at the Marine Base where Bradley Manning is being held in solitary confinement. Manning has not been found guilty of any crime yet his pre-trial detention has morphed into pre-trial punishment, as he has been held for 9 months in solitary.
On March 18th there will be a pre-event at Bush Boys and Poets (5th and K Streets, NW) that will feature notable speakers , among them Pulitizer Prize Winning war correspondent Chris Hedges, CODE PINK’s Medea Benjamin and author of War Is a Lie, David Swanson. Music will be provided by Deadwood, featuring Margaret Flowers, and by Watermelon Slim.
These wars are killing people every day, destroying families, forcing people from their homes and undermining U.S. national security and the economy.  President Obama is once again putting forward a larger weapons and war budget, this one the largest since World War II, despite the faltering economy.
Please join us in Washington, DC-area for these important events.

    [edit] Production

Among the challenges faced by the production team was the difficulty to get the authorization to bring a camera inside the Air Force Space Command bases and other US military and government locations. After four months of investigation, the US Department of Defense's public relations office decided to grant Denis Delestrac and his crew the access to the locations they had requested. It is the first time most of the Air Force Space Command bases are shot by a civilian film crew.
