Global Syria Day celebrated in Fayetteville, Arkansas, 11 June 2011

Global Syria Day in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and other cities.

GLOBAL SYRIA DAY:
A call for action in solidarity with the Syrian people
People of the world, unite for a free Syria. We ARE CALLING ON PEOPLE EVERYWHERE to come out in public squares around the world. For more than two months, Syrians have been courageously risking their lives protesting peacefully and using their mobiles, as their only weapon, to record events and spread the truth of the Syrian regime’s actions to the world. The Syrian people’s inspiring, nonviolent struggle for freedom, dignity, respect and democratic governance demands the support and solidarity of all. The people of the world must speak out in defense of the Syrian people’s legitimate demands for self-determination in the face of a brutal repressive regime. As people living in this beautiful planet we cannot accept a world where one dictator or one family takes an entire nation hostage. What is at stake is nothing less than our humanity.
From Morocco to Egypt, from Bahrain to Palestine to Syria, self-determination, justice and dignity will prevail!
ON JUNE 11TH, WE WILL CALL FOR
AN END TO THE VIOLENCE AGAINST THE SYRIAN PEOPLE,
ALLOW ACCESS TO INTERNATIONAL MEDIA,
FREEDOM FOR ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS,
AND DISMANTLING OF THE SYSTEM OF STATE REPRESSION IN SYRIA.
TO OTHER STATES, WE SAY NO TO INTERFERENCE AND WE CALL FOR AN IMMEDIATE END TO ALL FORMS OF SUPPORT FOR THIS ILLEGITIMATE REGIME.
Wear kufiyas, stand tall, and hold your mobiles high!
